School Land Trust/ Community Council Meeting

February 24, 2026

 

Those in attendance:

  • Shaun Jaggi (Principal)

Introduction of New Vice-Principal of 2026/27.  Her name is Allison Renstrom.

Discussed next year’s staffing needs of teachers and other staff members.

Discussion with the council members on what as a council we could do better.

Some of the positive things that they have liked are:

  • (1) enjoyed visiting the different classrooms to see how they operate
  • (2) sending agenda out ahead of the meeting
  • (3) Liked Jarom Healey’s spread sheet on the bubble students (students that are struggling)

Reviewed next year’s budget.

  1. Discussion about school staffing for next year. Shaun meeting with the district office to finalize the staffing.
  2. Some of the SLT money will used to buy teachers prep so we could reduce class size.
  3. Mr. Healey explained our intervention program. Our weak point was 8th grade math. Focusing on bringing up our 8th graders grades.
  4. We all toured our food pantry and PBIS store, to see how it worked. Pretty impressive to see what food we had available for the kids/families that needed it. We also have snacks for the kids.

Next Meeting will be held February 24th 2026 at 1 pm

  • Discussion about School Land Trust Plan and its purpose. The committee talked about last years approved spending plan and reviewed 2025-2026 school improvement plan.
  • Jarom Healey went over last year’s educational data. After reviewing the data, we discussed the greatest Academic needs.
  • Reviewed the school mission and vision statements.
  • We are striving for every student to be on track for graduation.
  • For the January and February meetings we will make our 2026-2027 plan.
  • Members went on a tour of the school and visited Megan Hanks math class.

Next meeting will be January 10th, at 1 PM

Shaun discussed with the Community Council members what the Council/School could do to be better:
  1. Chuck Gwilliam and Jeff Madsen both suggested talking more to the kids and learn from them what they think would improve the school.
  2. Nic Lauritzen talked about how, as a school, we could help the Hispanic community feel more welcome and ways to include them more in our Back to School nights and Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Mr. Jaggi explained:
  1. The School Improvement Plan, Staffing, and Budget.
  2. SLT money and TSSA  money and where best it could go for the benefit of the school.
 
Community Council members took a tour to visit the At Risk classroom. This is the intervention room where Ms. V helps the kids that are failing classes. She goes over their grades and attendance with the students and their parents.

January 21, 2025

Those in Attendance: Shaun Jaggi (Principal) Melissa Bringhurst (Chair and parent) Melissa Wadsworth (Counselor & Parent) Jarom Healey (Counselor) Paula Beatty (Secretary) Parents: Nic Lauritzen and Chuck Gwilliams

The meeting started with Melissa Bringhurst (Chair) welcoming everyone and read how we want to focus on improving issues rather than complaining about them. Open-minded opinions and conversations without dominating the discussion; She turned the meeting over to Mr. Jaggi.

School Land Trust/Community Council Meeting

Held on December 10th, 2024

Jeff madsen opened up the meeting then turned the time over to Shaun Jaggi, principal.

Mr Jaggi addressed what the school was doing to protect the students from harmful social media. He talked about our school data and where we stood with the other schools in the district. We are doing good in Language Arts and Science. Our biggest challenge is Math We are sending our Math teachers to a conference to learn additional skills in math over spring break.

Jarom Healey went over the data and showed how he could follow all the students that were failing. Every Monday he would send a report out to the teachers.

We talked a little about our ELL students and how we might make them feel more a part of the school community.

Next meeting will be held Jan 21st 2025

Reviewed our school Motto: Respect- Responsibility- Kindness

Reviewed last year’s budget and how the money was spent

Our Resource Officer discussed student safety and safe routes for students.
